This past summer, I spent three months in northern Greece in the midst of the Syrian refugee crisis. It was an experience that marked me as I daily encountered the stories of pain and intense suffering of a people group that many of us unwillingly forget. These songs were an overflow of the emotions I both witnessed in others and felt in myself, written in honor of the beautiful friends I made whose stories - though I could never capture them fully - deserve to be heard.
